Welcome to the Interviews page, this month I interviewed talented author Diana Castilleja.
Kyla: Welcome, Diana. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by me. =) Can you tell us about your latest release?
Diana: Hi Kyla! Thanks for having me. It's always a pleasure to talk books! My latest is CROWNING A WARRIOR KING, a fantasy romance. Rordan is an imprisoned warrior, sent to our time to Aran, the woman who has the magic to free him from his curse. The problem? He doesn't trust anything that has to do with magic now, with good reason. He's more than six feet squished into a trinket box! Not exactly a timeshare vacation if you know what I mean.
Kyla: Would you like to tell us what you are working on just now?
Diana: Right now, I've been polishing the second book of my vampire series. The title I've been working with is His Redeemer's Kiss, but I think it will likely be changed. This book picks up with one of the rescued girls, Lily, and Joaquin bringing more strength to the stronghold forged in the first book. The story arc is developing quite well and I've been very pleased with the turn of this story. It's not as dark as The Eternal Kiss, with the conflict being more internal and emotional, but it still has a few nice surprises. Can't tell everything y'know!
Kyla: You also write Erotic Romance under another name, can you tell us more about your other books?
Diana: My Erotic Romance is written under Diana DeRicci, and yes, is housed completely seperately from my mainstream writing. I have quite a few short stories out under my evil twin. I've been told while they are erotic, they still hold a strong sensuality that removes the need for excessive graphicness in the stories. They're still hot and naughty, but I haven't gotten brave enough to push the envelope beyond my current level. But you never know. I started writing Erotic to challenge my writing, there's no telling where it will go in the future.
Kyla: What is your favourite Genre to write it? Would you like to try something different with your writing? If you would, what would that be?
Diana: My all time favorite is definitely paranormal. Vampires, shifters and like, with fantasy then contemporary in order. I keep writing stories only to have weird things show up in them! And dead bodies and explosions seem pretty status quo too.
Right now there really isn't anything in my future that I'd like to try. The list of genres and publishers I already write for keeps me very busy, which is good! Lots more stories to share!
Kyla: Tell us who your favourite authors are, do you have any recommendations about books we just have to read?
Diana: This could take a while! :) I really love a lot of the paranormal authors: Christine Feehan, Lara Adrian, Jacquelyn Frank, Larissa Ione, Michelle Bardsley, Linda Mooney (for some awesome Science Fiction! I'm still drooling for Simon!), J. Morgan, Vicki Lewis-Thompson, and Judy Christenberry and Elaine Fox for Contemporary. I've also really enjoyed several of Erin McCarthy's books.
Honestly, I read A LOT. My TBR pile is some 500 books total with 400+ in print. I'm willing to try just about any author out there at least once, and if I like it, I'll be back. I'm such an easy groupie. hahahahaha
Kyla: Please tell us where we can purchase your fabulous books and where we can find out all about your latest news.
Diana: Well, there are links on both of my websites, along with full excerpts of all of my current releases. I'll give those links, the most direct way to find my work across the web. No one likes a wild chase, although I've heard they can be fun in the dark!
